Collection: Rachael Di Vincenzo

Rachael Di Vincenzo

Rachael Di Vincenzo is a British artist who primarily produces paintings and mixed media pieces inspired by the natural landscape around her.

When painting, Rachael gives the 'so called' negative spaces in the painting as much importance as the details of the physical forms presented. Her paintings in particular give a sense of space, peace and stillness while her mixed media pieces are rooted in layering to create work rich in color or with muted depths.

The space around us has always been Rachael's interest and inspiration comes more easily living under the vast Texan sky. Influenced by other artists such as Rachel Whiteread and her casts of negative space, Christo, the Bulgarian artist who wrapped landmarks in fabric, minimizing and decluttering the landscape, as well as, David Hockey's play of bold color and shapes, all have helped shaped her artistic direction.

Having spent the last 18 years or so overseas, Rachael now lives in Southlake, Texas with her husband, three kids and their dog. She holds a 4 yr BA HONs degree in Primary Teaching from Southampton University, U.K and studied painting and drawing with a Diploma in Art and Design at Brighton MET College, U.K extensively under Phil Tyler. After graduating she then went on to teach Art at Brighton College for a period of time before the family moved to Dubai, back to the UK and then on to Texas.
