Erich Ash

Erich Ash is an artist whose work explores the surreal and often overlooked beauty of palm trees. His journey began in the vibrant nightlife of Chicago, where he honed his skills as a photographer, capturing fleeting moments of youthful revelry. Seeking new horizons, Erich relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a career in directing and cinematography.
Amidst the city's iconic landscape, Erich found himself increasingly drawn to the ubiquitous palm trees. What began as a simple fascination quickly evolved into an artistic obsession. He began to see each palm tree as an individual, a friend, imbuing them with personality and a story to tell. This led him to create "Mister Palm," a recurring character in his work, often depicted carrying a briefcase like a modern-day James Bond.

The pandemic further intensified Erich's connection to palm trees, as he sought solace and meaning in their steadfast presence. His artistic exploration deepened, leading him to collaborate with both living and deceased artists to further humanize these arboreal subjects. Through his art, Erich invites viewers to #FindYourPalm, a call to discover personal truth and embrace the extraordinary in the ordinary.

Erich's work challenges our perceptions of the familiar, transforming the mundane into the magical. He seamlessly blends photography, surrealism, and pop culture, creating a unique visual language that celebrates the beauty and mystery of the natural world.
